If you want to progress in your life and grow, act not to react.

I talk a lot about finding the good in every situation. And I realize that some days it it easier to do that than others. For example, for me, that day is today. It has not been the easy for be to not get frustrated over a few small annoyances that have occurred and my inner bully seems to have a megaphone today. 

I am never saying that negative feelings are bad and that you should get rid of them. They are a part of being human. But instead of lashing out, sit with the emotion, recognize it, and make space for it. Along the way you will find something that it is hiding. Is the anger that you are feeling covering up stress or anxiety? Fear? Or possibly Love? 

Where does lashing out get us? NOWHERE. Yea, we might feel better for a nano-second but then we kind of feel like an asshole and the anger with only grow bigger. 

So, next time you feel that anger, stress or frustration. Think about how you should approach that feeling instead of reacting to it. Make space for the emotion, recognize that it is there, and then choose to feel something more productive instead.
